Trumpet Saxophone

Trumpet Saxophone

A trumpet is a brass instrument (that indicates the type of instrument, not the material it’s made of). This means that you get sound by vibrating your lips. A saxophone is a woodwind (even though they are not made of wood). They have a reed, and the sound is produced by vibrating the reed. Other woodwinds either have reeds (clarinet, chanters, harmonicas, …) or a sharp edge across which air is blown (flute, whistle, recorder, ocarina, …), creating turbulence, just imagine the two in one instrument.
